The Johnsons Insurance Agency was founded in 1969 by Harris & Augusta Johnson. The office originated in a small rental unit located in the Turek Building on Plantation Key, Monroe, Florida.

Their daughter Linda deGinder, has been with the agency since 1970 with the exception of 2 years. Linda's father was 2nd generation insurance and Linda has been spoon-fed insurance since her early teens.

Harris & Augusta retired in 1983 when Linda took over full control of the Agency; she is a "hands on" manager. When Linda took over, the agency volume was around $5,000,000. Since then, she opened an office in 1988 located on Big Pine Key. The agency volume is now over $12,000,000. and growing.
